Andronoos, aka Alejandro Cano Rios, is a Colombian born, multidisciplinary artist who’s part of a young, thriving art scene in his birthplace of Medellin. Inspired by his vibrant, lush homeland, Andronoos’ work features the lively colors of his native country, along with his mascot and alter-ego, the poodle character Mardy. Featured predominantly in his work, Mardy is inspired by his pet dog, Sofí. Painted over colorful backgrounds, Mardy is an extension of Andronoos, a reflection of the artist’s connection to nature: his pet that accompany him on walks, the trees and mountains that surround the urban landscape of Medellin, the colors that bleed into the artwork.
